This company of Adani Group got a big order from UP

There is another good news for Adani Group. The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to buy electricity on a large scale from Adani Power to meet the power needs of the state. According to the information received, the state cabinet on Tuesday approved the proposal to buy 1,500 MW of electricity from Adani Power Limited to meet the power needs of the state till the year 2034. Giving information about this decision taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state’s Energy Minister A.K. Sharma said that the government on Tuesday approved the proposal to buy 1,500 MW of electricity from 2 x 800 MW (1,600 MW) thermal power project through competitive bidding process. He said that Adani Power Limited has been declared the successful tenderer in the tender process held in this regard.

Adani Power quoted the lowest rate

According to the information given by the state government, the order has been given to Adani Power because it bid to supply electricity at the lowest rate per unit. The rate quoted by it was Rs 5.383. Sharma said that the state will need an additional 10,795 MW of thermal power by the year 2033-34 to meet its growing energy needs. He said that Adani Power Limited emerged as the lowest bidder in the tender process. It quoted a fixed charge of Rs 3.727 per unit, fuel charge of Rs 1.656 per unit and a total charge of Rs 5.383 per unit.

Agreement will be signed for 25 years

Sharma said that a power supply agreement will be signed with the company for a period of 25 years. Adani Power recorded a 21.4 per cent growth in PBT in FY25 to Rs 13,926 crore as against Rs 11,470 crore in FY24, led by improved EBITDA and lower finance costs. The Adani Group company recorded a 10.8 per cent growth in consolidated continuous total revenue in FY25 to Rs 56,473 crore as against Rs 50,960 crore in FY24. The company’s total revenue grew 5.3 per cent to Rs 14,522 crore in Q4 FY25 as against Rs 13,787 crore in Q4 FY24.
