YEIDA said on film city construction – No light, no camera and no action until the layout is approved by the company

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority i.e. YEIDA told the developers in clear words on Monday that the construction of the upcoming film city project should not start until the layout of the film studio and film institute building is approved by the company. The authority has absolutely refused to start construction or hold foundation stone laying ceremony on the plots in Sector 21 adjoining Yamuna Expressway.

Instruction to strictly follow the conditions

According to the Hindustan Times report, the authority, in a letter to Bayview Bhutanese Film City Private Limited, a federation led by filmmaker Boney Kapoor and Bhutanese group, has directed to strictly follow the terms of the concession agreement. YEIDA said that construction should start with two main components of the film city project which include film studio and film training academy. According to the conditions, the developer has to complete these two things within the first three years.

Then a fine of 1.5 lakh per day will be imposed

According to the news, the CEO of the authority said that the concession agreement was signed on June 27 last year. Construction was ordered to start within a year. If they do not start construction on time, a fine of 1.5 lakh per day will be imposed till the work starts. We have instructed the developer through a letter to comply with the conditions before joining the construction on the site.

In January, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority approved the land use map of the first phase of 230 acres of the 1,000-acre Film City project in Sector 21. The project is divided into two parts – industrial and commercial zones. Out of 230 acres, 155 acres are for industrial use and the remaining 75 acres are for commercial use.
