iPhones will be made at record levels in India, another plant is ready in this city, production will start from June

Another plant is ready to make iPhones in India. Karnataka Commerce and Industry Minister MB Patil has given this information. He said that the unit of Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company Foxconn located in the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Devanahalli is almost ready for operation. He hoped that the commercial supply of iPhones would start in early June. Foxconn manufactures iPhones on contract.

Milestone in the manufacturing sector

Patil said on the social media platform ‘X’, “This is not just a milestone in the manufacturing sector, but it reflects a strategic shift. With geopolitical and tariff pressures increasing, India is fast becoming Apple’s preferred production center.” He said that this development strengthens Karnataka’s position in global manufacturing and opens the door for more foreign investment without compromising the interests of stakeholders.

Most iPhones sold in the US will be made in India

The minister said Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook has confirmed that most of the iPhones sold in the US for the June quarter will be made in India. “As a Kannadigas, this is a proud moment for me. From Mysuru to Cupertino, Karnataka is making global headlines,” he said. The company has acquired 300 acres of land in the ITIR industrial area located in Doddaballapura and Devanahalli taluks of Bengaluru Rural district.

Apple will continue to invest in India

iPhone maker Apple has assured the Indian government that there will be no change in its investment plans for the country. Apple’s commitment comes after US President Donald Trump publicly criticized Apple’s manufacturing presence in India. A report quoted government sources as saying that there is no change in Apple’s investment plans in India and the company has assured the Indian government about its commitment to use India as a major manufacturing base.
