Anil Ambani will create a stir in the defense sector, will make 200,000 cannon shells annually, joined hands with this German company
It will not be wrong to say ‘Anil Ambani is back’ now. One after the other good news is coming from the companies associated with Anil Ambani. Now Anil Ambani’s defense company Reliance Defense Limited has joined hands with German weapons manufacturer Diehl Defense. Under this partnership, Anil Ambani will make cannon shells, explosives and propellants for the Indian forces. The company said in a statement that this partnership will promote the local production of the state-of-the-art ‘Vulcano 155 mm precision guided ammunition’ system that meets the needs of the Indian armed forces. According to the statement, the shells guided in the final stage of the 155 mm cannon can attack the target 10 seconds before reaching the estimated impact area. Due to the system installed in it, even the enemy’s electronic jamming equipment cannot easily disable it. This is the fourth strategic global partnership of Reliance Group. Earlier, it has also tied up with Dassault Aviation, Thales Group and Rheinmetall.
Laser and GPS will be used
The statement said that the advanced ammunition system will use cutting-edge laser and GPS-guided technology to target the target, which will increase its precision attack capability. Reliance Defense said that it has a market opportunity to generate revenue of potentially Rs 10,000 crore through the development and supply of advanced ammunition systems.
A joint statement issued separately by the two groups said that Reliance Group founder Anil Ambani and Diehl Defense Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Helmut Rauch discussed strengthening the strategic partnership on guided ammunition. The two companies had a strategic partnership for cooperation on guided ammunition systems in 2019.
Anil Ambani will open a factory in Ratnagiri
Ambani said on this occasion that this strategic partnership not only accelerates the advancement of India’s defense manufacturing capabilities, but also establishes Reliance Defense as an important part of the global defense supply chain. Under this agreement, Reliance Group is going to set up a factory in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, which will have an annual capacity to produce 200,000 artillery shells, 10,000 tons of explosives and 2,000 tons of propellant.
Make in India will get a boost
The two companies said in a joint statement, the collaboration with Reliance Defense for Diehl Defense is part of the company’s commitment to the Indian market and the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Government of India. Under ‘Make in India-2′, System Vulcano 155 mm’ initiative is underway, in which Reliance Defense is the prime contractor for the Indian customer while Diehl Defense is its strategic partner. Helmut Rauch, CEO, Diehl Defense, said that Diehl Defense looks forward to strengthening its existing relationship with Reliance in the context of guided munitions for the Indian Armed Forces.
