Former Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant will join IndiGo’s board of directors, the company announced
InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of the country’s largest airline IndiGo, made a big announcement on Thursday. InterGlobe Aviation announced the appointment of former Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant as a non-executive director on its board of directors. Amitabh Kant resigned from the post of India’s G-20 Sherpa last month. InterGlobe Aviation said in a statement that his appointment to the board will be done only after regulatory and shareholder approval.

IndiGo’s Board of Directors Chairman Vikram Singh Mehta said, “IndiGo is happy to welcome Amitabh Kant as a board member. Amitabh Kant has tremendous experience of administrative work at the national and international level. His leadership qualities will greatly benefit IndiGo.” Mehta said that the IndiGo team can benefit from his extensive experience and knowledge in achieving its goal of becoming a global company by 2030.
