Tesla opens second showroom in Delhi, four superchargers also present
Tesla, one of the big electric vehicle (EV) companies, has opened its second showroom in India in the capital Delhi on Monday. This company of billionaire Elon Musk opened its first showroom in BKC, Mumbai last month. Tesla’s showroom in Delhi is in Aerocity.
Four V4 superchargers have been installed in the parking lot of this showroom. Tesla plans to install superchargers at some locations in Delhi NCR. The company’s Model Y has been made available for sale in the country. The Model Y electric SUV can get a range of 267 kilometers in just 15 minutes of charging with a supercharger. Recently, the company started the first supercharger in Mumbai. The company can soon start charging facilities in cities like Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.
The V4 supercharger has four destination charging stalls with AC chargers along with DC chargers. With these charging units, supercharging stalls can reach a peak charging speed of 250 kW. Customers will have to use the Tesla app to find out the availability of these chargers. Recently, Tesla had said that priority delivery of Model Y will be done in Delhi as well as Mumbai, Gurugram and Pune. Booking for Model Y can be done on the company’s website. The starting price of this electric SUV is Rs 59.89 lakh. It has been made available in two variants – rear wheel drive and long-range rear wheel drive. Its long-range rear wheel drive variant is priced at Rs 67.89 lakh. Customers can also customize the exterior, interior and features of Model Y through Tesla Design Studio.
The rear-wheel drive variant of Model Y has a range of about 500 km on a single charge. It can reach a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Its long range rear-wheel drive has a range of a little more than 620 km. It can reach a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Tesla has imported the Model Y from its factory in Shanghai in China. In the country, Tesla’s EV will compete with electric models from Chinese EV maker BYD and luxury vehicle makers like Audi and Mercedes.
