Mukesh Ambani to build Asia’s largest food park, signs ₹40,000 crore deal with government

Reliance Industries, owned by India and Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, is making a major bet in the food sector. Reliance Consumer Products Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance, has signed a ₹40,000 crore agreement with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries to set up integrated food manufacturing facilities across the country, sources said. The MoU was signed on Thursday during the World Food India 2025 event, sources said.

Announcing its investment plan at its annual general meeting in August, Reliance Industries stated that it would build Asia’s largest integrated food park with AI-powered automation, robotics, and sustainable technologies. RCPL is one of India’s fastest-growing FMCG companies. In just three years since its inception, it has generated revenues of over ₹11,000 crore. RCPL has acquired several consumer brands.

Ambitious Goal

Under the MoU, RCPL will invest over ₹1,500 crore to set up integrated facilities for food products and beverages in Katol, Nagpur, Maharashtra, and Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. At the August annual general meeting, Reliance Industries Director Isha Ambani stated that RCPL is one of the group’s growth engines. It aims to achieve revenues of ₹1 lakh crore within five years, with a global presence.
