ChatGPT Go subscription free for one year in India: Unlimited chat and image generation, benefiting each user ₹4,788

Now, you can chat, create, and upload images for free with ChatGPT. OpenAI has made the ChatGPT Go subscription plan free for one year in India.

This offer will be active for Indian users from November 4, 2025. Currently, this subscription costs ₹399 per month in India, but starting November 4, it will become free for one year. This means each user will benefit ₹4,788 per year.

ChatGPT Go is OpenAI’s mid-level premium plan. The company says India is its second-largest and fastest-growing market.

The company announced the new plan today (October 28) in response to free plans from Google and Perplexity. Google has made its AI Pro membership (₹19,500 annually) free for students for one year. Perplexity has also partnered with Airtel to offer its premium plan for free.

Altman said, “India is the fastest-growing market for AI.”

Nick Turley, VP of OpenAI and head of ChatGPT, said, “Since launching ChatGPT Go in India, it’s been fun to see the creativity of users. Ahead of our first DevDay Exchange event, we’re making it free for a year so that more people can benefit from advanced AI.” CEO Sam Altman said, “India is not only our second-largest market, but also our fastest-growing.”
