This company makes a major investment in India, investing $60 million in a manufacturing plant.
Ball Corporation, a leader in sustainable aluminum packaging, has announced a strategic investment in India. This announcement reinforces the company’s commitment to strengthening its supply chain and meeting growing customer demand in Asia’s fastest-growing consumer market. The company previously invested $55 million in its Taloja Can Manufacturing Plant, located near Mumbai, Maharashtra, in 2024. Following this initiative, the company is now investing approximately $60 million in its Sri City manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh.
Mandy Glew, President of Ball Beverage Packaging EMEA & Asia, said, “India is a key focus of our global strategy. This investment reflects our focused strategy to expand operations in high-growth markets and maintain a long-term competitive advantage. While we are pursuing our expansion in Taloja and Sri City, we are also exploring other investment opportunities to drive growth in the Indian market, as more brands and consumers are opting for aluminum packaging.”
Benefits to the Beverage Can Market
Ball’s investment will directly benefit the beverage can market in India. This market is projected to grow at a rate of 10 percent annually over the next five years. Consumers are increasingly shifting towards more environmentally friendly and convenient options, particularly in the dairy segment, leading to the emergence of new product categories. Aluminum packaging is increasingly being adopted as the preferred choice for ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages and milk-based beverages.
Through its Retort Innovation technology, Ball helps extend the shelf life of these products while maintaining taste and nutritional quality. This capability makes Ball a leading company driving packaging transformation in India’s rapidly changing beverage landscape.
