Subsidiary RCPL Acquires Tamil Nadu’s Heritage Nutrition Brand Udhaiyam

Reliance Industries has announced that its FMCG subsidiary, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), has acquired a majority stake in Udhaiyams Agro Foods Private Limited, a heritage nutrition and food brand from Tamil Nadu. This deal brings the food company and the Tamil Nadu heritage nutrition brand Udhaiyams under the RCPL umbrella, further strengthening the FMCG company’s branded staples portfolio. The company stated that RCPL has acquired a majority stake in Udhaiyams Agro Foods, while the company’s original promoters will retain the remaining stake.

With this acquisition, Udhaiyams, a food brand considered a heritage brand of Tamil Nadu, has now become part of RCPL’s portfolio. Through this joint venture, RCPL has once again reiterated its vision of promoting India’s heritage and legacy brands. The company says that this partnership will further strengthen its efforts to provide consumers across the country with global quality products at affordable prices.
