Google will give money to employees to leave the job, gave buyout offer to staff

Google has given a buyout offer to employees in its different departments. Google has told its employees that if they leave the job, they will be given a good amount of money. The departments to which Google has given this offer include Knowledge and Information (K&I), Central Engineering, Marketing, Research and Communication. The number of employees is continuously decreasing since 2023

According to a CNBC report, US tech giant Google fired 12,000 employees in 2023. Since then, the company has been continuously reducing the number of employees. However, there is no concrete information about the number of employees who will be fired under this buyout offer.

Cost cutting is one of the company’s key priorities

Google has confirmed that the buyout offer i.e. “Voluntary Exit Program” will be applicable only to US-based employees. Let us tell you that some departments of Google are making it mandatory for those remote workers who live within 50 miles of the office to come to the office and work. This buyout offer has come at a time when the company’s finance chief Anat Ashkenazi said in October that cost cutting is one of his key priorities. Employees whose performance is not good can leave the job
