US: Now the US President’s family will enter the mobile phone business; another attempt to cash in on the Trump brand
US President Donald Trump’s family will now enter a new business of mobile phone manufacturing. Its name will be Trump Mobile. This step has been taken when Donald Trump is in the highest constitutional position like the President of America. He is being criticized for the fact that he can influence public policies for his personal business interests. This is being termed as another attempt to cash in on the popularity of the Trump brand. Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of Trump Organization and Donald Trump’s son, said that Trump Mobile will sell phones manufactured in America and will operate a call center in the country itself.
This new mobile phone and service has been named T1 Mobile. Its announcement comes after several real estate deals in the Middle East, including a golf project in Qatar. Last month, his family approved a $1.5 billion partnership agreement for golf courses, hotels and real estate projects in Vietnam. However, these deals had started before Trump’s election. A new round of controversies has started in the business and political circles of America over the association of Trump’s name with businesses. It is worth noting that the Federal Communications Commission, the regulatory body of mobile phone companies, has started investigating those media organizations which Trump dislikes.
Trump has threatened tariffs over iPhone manufacturing in India
Eric Trump said on Monday that consumers should get phones that are affordable and in accordance with their values. This company is entering a highly competitive market. Earlier, Donald Trump has criticized Apple over iPhone manufacturing in India. Trump had threatened to impose a 25 percent tariff on Apple.
