Indian-origin Shailesh Jejurikar becomes CEO of P&G: joined the company in 1989; included in the list of leaders like Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella
Procter & Gamble (P&G), a company that makes household products like Tide detergent and Head & Shoulders shampoo, has announced the appointment of Shailesh Jejurikar as CEO. This change will be effective from January 1, 2026. Shailesh is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company.
He will replace the current CEO John Moller. John Moller has been heading the company for the last four years. Moller will play the role of executive chairman of the company.
His appointment has added another name to the list of CEOs of Indian origin, which includes names like Sundar Pichai (Google), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), and Arvind Krishna (IBM).
Shailesh has studied in school with Satya Nadella
Shailesh Jejurikar is 58 years old. Born in Mumbai and studying at Hyderabad Public School, Jejurikar graduated from Elphinstone College, Mumbai.
He obtained an MBA degree from IIM Lucknow. Interestingly, during his school studies, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was also in his class.

Shelesh led the company’s Fabric and Home Care sector from 2019 to 2021. It is part of big brands like Tide, Ariel, Hand & Shoulders. It is P&G’s largest business unit. It accounts for about one-third of the company’s total sales and profits.
He has also worked in divisions like Health and Beauty Care and P&G Professional. In 2021, he was made the COO of the company, which was a first for an Indian in this company.
The current CEO turned 61, so the responsibility was handed over to the new one
The current CEO of P&G, John Moller, has turned 61. In such a situation, the company decided that now the reins should be handed over to a new and experienced person. Moller said in an interview, “I have full faith in my team. The selection of Shailesh will further strengthen our strategy.”
