Rishi Sunak’s new innings, joining forces with Microsoft and AI company Anthropic, will now see the former British PM in this role.

Another prominent name has joined the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI). After establishing a strong presence in politics, former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is now entering the world of technology and innovation. He has joined forces with US software giant Microsoft and the rapidly emerging AI company Anthropic as a senior advisor. This move could establish him as a new global tech leader.

According to an official document released by the UK government, Rishi Sunak will serve as a part-time senior advisor at Microsoft. In this position, his role will include advising on major trends related to the macroeconomic and international situation and providing strategic direction to the company. The British Public Body Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (ACOBA) has advised Sunak not to engage in any government lobbying on behalf of Microsoft.

Will Donate Salary to Charity

Sunak told ACOBA that he will not keep any money from this work for himself. Whatever salary he receives will be donated entirely to his charity, The Richmond Project. This charity, founded by Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murthy, in 2025, aims to enhance children and adults’ ability to learn mathematics.

Part-Time Senior Advisor at Anthropic

According to a report in September, Rishi Sunak has also taken on the role of part-time senior advisor at AI research company Anthropic. In this position, he will work with the company’s team to provide strategic advice on economic and strategic trends. Anthropic issued a statement saying, “We welcome Rishi Sunak. His experience and understanding will be very helpful. With his support, we want to ensure that AI technology is used for the benefit of humanity.”
