Mahindra Launches Ultra-Fast Charging Network for Electric Vehicles
Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the largest automobile companies, has launched an ultra-fast charging network for electric vehicles (EVs). The company has opened two charging stations under this initiative. Each station has two ultra-fast chargers, capable of charging four EVs simultaneously.
The company has opened these charging stations on the Bengaluru-Chennai Highway and in Murthal, Haryana. According to a media report, Mahindra & Mahindra plans to expand the number of these charging stations to 250 over the next two years. Each of these stations will have 180 kW chargers. The company stated, “Electric mobility is promoting clean and sustainable transportation. The XEV 9e and BE 6 have a range of approximately 500 kilometers, making long journeys hassle-free for drivers. Our ultra-fast charging network will provide convenience to all EV users.” The central government plans to increase the share of EVs in total car sales to approximately 30 percent by 2030. Incentives are also being provided by the central and state governments for EVs.
Mahindra’s Charge_IN network will use 180 kW dual-gun chargers, providing fast, convenient, and reliable charging for EVs. These charging stations will also be located alongside restaurants. The company is offering discounts of up to ₹1.55 lakh on its XEV 9e and BE6 electric SUVs. The company’s third electric SUV, the XEV 9S, will be launched soon. The company has offered this discount before that.
This discount will be available for the first 5,000 bookings for the XEV 9e and BE6 until December 20th. The offer includes accessories worth Rs 30,000, corporate bonus up to Rs 25,000, exchange benefit up to Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 for free public charging and a 7.2 kW AC fast charger worth Rs 50,000. Mahindra has two battery options for the XEV 9e and BE 6 – 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The 59 kWh variant of the XEV 9e has a range of approximately 542 km on a single charge, and the 79 kWh variant has a range of approximately 650 km. The BE 6 has a range of approximately 530 km and approximately 680 km respectively on both battery variants.
