Qualcomm and CP PLUS join hands for AI-Enabled Video Intelligence Systems in India, launch expected in 2026
Video security brand CP PLUS and Qualcomm Technologies have partnered to announce new AI-enabled video security solutions in India. This partnership will combine CP PLUS’s products and distribution network with Qualcomm’s on-device AI and edge-processing capabilities. This new initiative will provide scalable and real-time video analytics for the public safety sector in India.
According to the company, this will be implemented through edge boxes in the Video Management System (VMS) and will process sensitive data only at the site. This will reduce latency and minimize external network exposure. Platforms like the Qualcomm Insight Platform, LLM-based Gen AI Assistant, and Qualcomm Dragonwing processors will together provide capabilities such as real-time alerts, AI-driven video search, and summarization, enabling immediate actionable insights.
In everyday life, this technology will perform tasks ranging from identifying blocked pathways and monitoring PPE compliance to estimating crowd density in a given area and enabling faster response in high-risk situations. Taking the example of a shop or retail store, this technology will analyze customer behavior and provide business intelligence benefits such as store layout optimization and automating routine audits. Capabilities like Merlin and generative AI will help transform video footage into context-rich insights.
Senior officials from CP PLUS and Qualcomm stated that the two companies will together bring fast, responsive, and flexible video intelligence tailored for India. Until now, security primarily involved video recording. But now, they are moving beyond that to create intelligent, insight-driven video management that will significantly benefit the country’s infrastructure. CP PLUS’s consumer base and Qualcomm’s AI platform will together advance security.
According to the company, this product technology is expected to be commercially available in the first quarter of 2026. The cost of using this service and the charges for each device will be announced by the companies in the coming days.
