OPPO launches 5G Innovation Lab; this will strengthen the country’s ecosystem; Plan for setting up 3 new labs

Chinese smartphone company Oppo has said that it has set up its 5G innovation lab in India. It is also the company’s first 5G lab outside China. The company intends to set up three other innovative functional labs like camera, power and battery and performance at the Research and Development Center in Hyderabad.

The country’s ecosystem will be strong

Tasleem Arif, President and Head of Research and Development, Oppo India said, “This is OPPO’s first 5G lab outside the country. In this lab, we will develop 5G technology and strengthen the overall ecosystem. We also thank India for starting the journey.”

He said that the development technology in the lab will serve to promote our vision around the world to make India an innovation hub.

India will lead to innovation

This 5G lab of Oppo will focus on creating the latest and advanced technology for the world. Oppo said that the Indian team would lead the innovation for other countries including the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, Japan and Europe.

Oppo has submitted more than 3,000 5G standard-related proposals to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) by September 2020. The European Telecommunication Standards Institute of the French-based Technical Standards Body has declared 5G standard patents to more than 1,000 families.
