Taking a big action, the Chinese government has ordered the removal of 25 Didi apps from the App Store. Didi is China’s largest cab service provider, operated by Didi Global Inc. The government has taken this action regarding data theft on Didi app.

Didi app is accused of collecting personal data of users. Last week, the Cyberspace Administration of China removed Didi’s main app from the App Store and now ordered the removal of the remaining 25 apps from the store with immediate effect. Just last week, Didi launched its IPO on the US stock market, which was the second largest launch by a Chinese company in the US since the launch of Alibaba. With the entry in the US market, the company’s stock was taken by the people, but as soon as the news of action on the company in China came, the shares started falling.

Didi Enterprises and Didi Driver are among the 25 Didi apps ordered by Cyberspace to be removed from the App Store. It is also being said in a report that Didi has fixed the problem of collecting data but has not informed cyberspace in detail. Cyberspace has also said that it will not be able to register new registrations till the time the investigation against the company goes on.

Didi started in China in 2012 with Taxi. Later the company also included private cars and buses in its fleet. Apart from this, the company is also investing in electric cars and artificial intelligence.
