Rail travel will become comfortable: Indian Railways will run sleeper Vande Bharat Express, tender for 200 trains issued

In view of the good response received by Vande Bharat Express, now Indian Railways is planning to run the sleeper Vande Bharat Express. For this, Indian Railways has issued tender for 200 sleeper Vande Bharat Express.

The tender includes the design, manufacturing and maintenance of the express. Apart from this, Railways has also issued tender for the upgradation of Vande Bharat. Let us tell you that the last date of tender has been fixed as 26 July 2022.

All coaches of the train will be AC

According to the information given by the Indian Railways, all the coaches of the sleeper Vande Bharat Express will be AC. The sleeper Vande Bharat Express will run on medium and long distance routes. Regarding the tender on behalf of the Railways, it was said that the work of upgradation of the existing Vande Bharat Express will be done at the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory located in Latur, Maharashtra or in Chennai.

The 16-coach Vande Bharat Express will have 1 First AC, 4 Second AC and 11 Third AC coaches. First AC, 4 second AC and 15 third AC coaches will be installed in the 20-coach sleeper train. The speed of this train will be 160 kmph.

200 trains will be ready in due time

In the information given by the Railways, it was told that the first pre-bid conference will be held on 20 May 2022. Railways told in the tender that the deadline for delivery of sleeper Vande Bharat Express will be 6 years and 10 months. The company will prepare 200 trains within this time period.

The first Vande Bharat was run between Varanasi to New Delhi

The first Vande Bharat Express was run on 15 February 2019 between Varanasi to New Delhi. After this, on 3 October 2019, the second Vande Bharat Express train started between New Delhi to Katra station. Both these trains are chair car. The Vande Bharat Express has a maximum speed of 160 kmph, which is the fastest speed on the Indian Railways network.
