Three ‘Microbreweries’ units in Delhi expected to start operations in first week of October.

New Delhi, Sep 19 (PTI) Three ‘microbreweries’ licensed by the Delhi government are likely to start producing and selling beer from the first week of October. Officials gave this information on Monday.

Officials said that licenses have already been issued to applicants who are setting up machines in microbreweries and these units are being set up at a mall in Saket and at Janpath besides Connaught Place.

A senior excise department official said they may start production of ‘drought beer’ from the first week of October.

“The process of issuing three more licenses to microbreweries is underway. There are plans to encourage draft beer by setting up microbreweries in Delhi as there is a huge demand in this area.”

Microbreweries are small units of beer production that produce and sell beer within the premises. At the same time, ‘Drot beer’ is beer served by a glass rather than a bottle or can.
