Tech layoffs have affected thousands of employees around the world during the recession, with layoffs taking away their jobs, especially in Silicon Valley. In such difficult times, Dream11 CEO and co-founder Harsh Jain has called upon the sacked Indians to return to the country, mainly those who are grappling with H1B visa issues. He said these employees can help realize the growth potential of Indian tech companies.

Tech companies cut huge layoffs

Falling revenue, fewer advertisers and the financial crisis have resulted in severe cuts and layoffs of thousands of employees. Meta has come under heavy criticism for laying off 11,000 employees, which is about 13 per cent of its total workforce. The Facebook-parent company has lost nearly 70 of its value this year, with its market cap falling from a trillion dollars to $255.79 billion. Half of the company’s employees were fired after Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter. Microsoft, Netflix, Zillow and Spotify have all fired a number of employees.
