Pluralsight Layoffs: Online education company Pluralsight fired 400 employees, know the whole matter.

Pluralsight, a provider of online education for developers and IT professionals that was recently valued at more than $1 billion, has announced plans to lay off 20 percent of its global workforce, or about 400 employees. The company’s CEO, Aaron Skonard, said in an email to employees that he was responsible for the situation and takes full responsibility for the decision.

“You are all aware of the challenging economic environment we operate in. This has impacted our business performance,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, these challenges intensified in the fourth quarter and as a result, today we are reducing the size of our team by restructuring,” he said late Monday. This is affecting approximately 20 percent of our team members. Huh.” According to US SEC documents, Pluralsight, founded in 2004, had a net loss of $163.5 million in 2019 and $164 million in 2020.

The CEO added that executives will provide more details to those affected during all-hands meetings later this week. “I’m sorry for the negative impact this will have on many of you, we have let you down at a difficult time,” he added. Pluralsight is an online education company that provides a variety of video training courses for software developers, IT administrators, and creative professionals through its website.
