Microsoft: Biggest layoff in Microsoft, tech companies fired 30611 employees in six days.

Fearing a global recession, technology companies around the world are laying off people on a large scale. Giant technology company Microsoft can also show the way out to five percent i.e. up to 11,000 employees. This is considered to be the biggest layoff ever in Microsoft. The company has also laid off 1,000 workers in July. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that today we are making such changes, which are challenging for the person associated with us. The employees to be fired have been notified. Some of these have been removed with immediate effect. The move will save the company about $1.2 billion.

Meanwhile, various reports have said that the new year has started on a bad note in terms of jobs. Other companies including Amazon have fired 30,611 people in the first six days of January. ShareChat has also announced 20 per cent layoffs.

Compensation to affected workers

Microsoft said that the affected employees will be provided with health-related facilities for six months along with payment of compensation. Also, they will be given notice of termination two months in advance.
