SEBI: SEBI strict on those who advise buying and selling shares on social media without registration, action on four companies.

Market regulator SEBI has started cracking down on unregistered investment advisors on social media. Action has been taken on at least four companies. These companies were advising investors to buy and sell shares.

According to the rules, these companies can be fined along with a complete ban on doing business in the securities market. Also, whatever income has been earned from such wrong advice may also have to be returned. However, SEBI is currently investigating all these. SEBI has passed four such orders in a year. These are aimed at protecting retail investors and cracking down on financial advice from such unregistered people. According to the rules, only those who are registered with SEBI can give advice on buying and selling of shares.
