Child rights body issues notice to ‘Bournvita’: NCPCR asks company to remove all misleading advertisements and packaging.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sent a notice to Mondelez International India Limited, a company that manufactures health drink ‘Bournvita’. NCPCR has issued this notice to the company for non-compliance of rules related to mandatory disclosure of sugar content.


Company asked to remove misleading advertisement and packaging


Recently, questions were raised about the ingredients of Bournvita and since then the controversy regarding the company’s product is going on. After this, now NCPCR has asked the company in the notice to review and remove all its misleading advertisements (misleading advertisements), packaging and labels. NCPCR has expressed concern over the company’s products and packaging of Bournvita in the notice.


NCPCR sought response from the company in 7 days


The national child rights body said that the company has failed to provide correct information on its packaging about the ingredients used in Bournvita. NCPCR has asked the packaged food company to respond with a detailed explanation on the matter within the next seven days.
