Air Vistara: ’10 new aircraft and 1000 employees’, CEO of Vistara told this plan of the airline.

Vistara currently has a fleet of 61 aircraft and an employee strength of over 5,200. Vistara Chief Executive Officer Vinod Kannan said during an interaction here this week that the closure of GoFirst has created a pool of talent, especially pilots and crew members. He said, ‘Like Air India and Indigo, we have also recruited them. We wanted to make sure we had the right numbers and the right people.

We went through the normal process that every airline would do. Then, there is the whole job market for cabin crew where freshers are coming in. We still attract great talent. The airline has recruited around 50 pilots from GoFirst. Talking about Vistara’s hiring plan, Kannan said the airline would add a total of 10 aircraft and would require around 1,000 employees in this fiscal. “We need around 1,000 employees… By the end of this financial year… Out of 10 aircraft, one has arrived and nine more are on the way, three of which are wide bodies while the rest are A320s,” he said.
