Swiggy’s delivery boys started strike, service affected, know what is the whole matter

New Delhi: Employees of Bengaluru-based food delivery aggregator Swiggy have gone on strike in Mumbai. The employees have started an indefinite strike. According to media reports, riders have launched an “indefinite strike” in Mumbai demanding higher pay and better working conditions. This strike has been started by the Swiggy unit of the National Staff Army. Let us tell you that Karmachari Sena is a labor union affiliated with the ruling Shiv Sena party in Maharashtra. In the video shared on social media, Swiggy employees can be seen taking out a bike rally with placards for their demands.

According to the report, the employees started this strike on October 8. After this, Swiggy’s service is being affected in Mumbai. Many internet users reported that they are not able to order food or groceries on the company’s app.

In the video circulating on social media, riders are seen demanding more payment. Riders allege that their earnings are decreasing. It is alleged that earlier he used to earn Rs 100. Now he is able to earn only Rs 40. However, no statement has been issued by the company on this strike. The strike by Swiggy employees in Mumbai comes months after a similar strike was called by the company’s riders in Chennai.

Blinkit riders have also gone on strike

Let us tell you that earlier this year, riders working with Zomato-owned Blinkit had also started a strike in Delhi-NCR, accusing the company of reducing their salaries by changing the payment structure.
