Mahindra-and-Mahindra MD Anish Shah appointed President of FICCI: Anant Goenka made Vice President and Shailesh Pathak made General Secretary

Anish Shah, Managing Director and Group CEO, Mahindra & Mahindra, has been appointed President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for 2023-24. Anish Shah will replace Subhrakant Panda.

He was appointed to this post in the 96th Annual Convention of FICCI held in the capital Delhi. Anish Shah has a PHD from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business. He has done Post Graduate Diploma from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

FICCI along with Shah has appointed Harshvardhan Agarwal as Senior Vice President, Anant Goenka as Vice President, Shubhrakant Panda as Immediate Vice President and Shailesh K. for the leadership of 2023-24. Pathak has been appointed General Secretary.

Mahindra Group has congratulated Shah on his appointment. In its X post, the group wrote, ‘We heartily congratulate our Group CEO and MD Anish Shah on the appointment as President of FICCI. With his experience and strategic skills, we are excited about his contribution in shaping the future of Indian commerce and industry.

Worked on debit business at Bank of America

Newly appointed President of FICCI, Anish Shah was the President and CEO of GE Capital India from 2009-14 before Mahindra Group. Shah stayed at GE Capital India for a total of 14 years. Shah has headed the debit product business of Bank of America. Apart from this, Shah has also worked with Bain & Company in Boston and Citi Bank in Mumbai.

Shah is handling big responsibilities in many forums

Apart from being the FICCI President, Dr. Shah is a member of the UK Investment Council, Chairman of the Automotive Governors Council of the World Economic Forum, Vice President of the India Alliance of CEOs on Climate Change and Vice President of the India-Australia CEO Council.
