Air India and this Tata company will invest Rs 2,300 crore in Karnataka, 1,650 people will get jobs.

Tata Group companies will invest Rs 2,300 crore in Karnataka. For this, Karnataka Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The investment by Air India and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) is expected to boost the state’s aerospace ecosystem, creating 1,650 direct and more than 25,000 indirect employment opportunities in the state.


This work will be done with an investment of Rs 1200 crore


According to the MoU signed in the presence of CM Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Heavy and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil in Bengaluru, Air India will develop the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru with an investment of Rs 1,200 crore. Will set up maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities. Kempegowda International Airport is operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited.


Air India plans to increase connectivity


In a joint statement, the Government of Karnataka and Tata Group said that this initiative is expected to develop the MRO ecosystem in India and create more than 1,200 high-skilled employment opportunities. Air India is planning to increase its connectivity in Bengaluru. This initiative is a step towards Air India Group’s deeper presence in Bengaluru, enhancing its direct connectivity to many global destinations.

TASL investment


TASL’s investment includes three projects near Bengaluru Airport and Kolar, with a total investment of Rs 1,030 crore. These include a passenger-to-cargo aircraft conversion facility (Rs 420 crore), a gun manufacturing facility (Rs 310 crore), and aerospace and defense research and development in Karnataka (Rs 300 crore). These projects are expected to generate direct employment for 450 people.
