IndiGo orders 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft: The airline will enter the wide-body aircraft segment, deliveries will start from 2027

InterGlobe Aviation Limited i.e. Indigo has ordered 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Through this, budget airline Indigo will enter the wide-body aircraft segment. The company has given this information in its exchange filing.

The airline said that these aircraft will get Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. IndiGo expects deliveries of these wide-body aircraft to begin from 2027. This will help the airline to expand its network.

Apart from the purchase of 30 aircraft, IndiGo has also signed for the right to purchase 70 additional A350 aircraft. The new aircraft will allow the airline to operate ultra-long-distance flights, putting it in direct competition with Air India.

Indigo has a fleet of more than 350 aircraft. With its fleet, IndiGo operates more than 1900 flights daily. This airline covers 81 domestic destinations and 32 international destinations.

IndiGo has the highest market share of 60% in India, which wants to double its capacity by 2030 and expand its network internationally.
