Adani Group’s investment commitment in North East reaches Rs 1 lakh crore, people will get employment
Industrialist Gautam Adani has announced an investment of Rs 50,000 crore in the next 10 years for green energy, road construction and digital infrastructure in the Northeast states. He said that his group wants to expand its presence in the North East. Earlier, Adani Group had announced an investment of Rs 50,000 crore in Assam in February. Adani Group has so far committed an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in the Northeast states.
Commitment of investment of Rs 1 lakh crore
Gautam Adani said at the ‘Rising Northeast Investors Summit’ that his group’s initiative will give priority to local jobs, local entrepreneurship and community engagement. In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Adani said, “Three months ago, we had promised to invest Rs 50,000 crore in Assam. Today, once again, inspired by your leadership, I announce that the Adani Group will invest Rs 50,000 crore in the Northeast over the next 10 years. This investment will expand green energy including smart-meters, hydro pump storage, power transmission, roads and highways, digital infrastructure, logistics as well as capacity-building through ‘skilling and vocational training centers’.
Will invest in people
He said, “However, more than infrastructure, we will invest in people. Each initiative will prioritize local jobs, local entrepreneurship and community engagement. This is what Developed India 2047 is all about.” Adani said that in the last decade, a new chapter of India’s development story is being written in the hills and valleys of the Northeast. He said, “A story that is rooted in diversity, resilience and untapped potential. This region is now a source of our cultural pride, economic promise and strategic direction. He said, “When you said, ‘Act East, Act Fast, Act First’, you showed the way to the Northeast.”

Adani said that this is reflected in the 65 personal visits of the Prime Minister to the Northeast, investment of Rs 6.2 lakh crore since 2014, doubling of road connectivity to 16,000 km and doubling the number of airports. The industrialist said, “This is not just a policy. It reflects your broad views. It reflects your belief system. It reflects your faith in the basic mantra of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’.
