Tesla Opens First Showroom in Bengaluru; After-Sales Support Set to Strengthen
Tesla, a major player in the international electric vehicle (EV) market, has opened its first showroom in Bengaluru. The company’s showroom is located in the Whitefield area of Bengaluru, a city recognized as one of the country’s leading EV markets. Elon Musk’s Tesla officially commenced its business operations in India last year.
According to a media report, the company’s “Experience Center” in Bengaluru will facilitate the sales of the Model Y and Model Y L. Tesla has stated that it is actively strengthening its after-sales support infrastructure in India. Deliveries of the company’s Model Y L are set to begin shortly across the country; this electric crossover is currently being dispatched to the company’s dealerships. The Tesla Model Y L is priced at ₹61.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This particular Tesla model features an extended wheelbase. The company first unveiled the Model Y L in China last year; it serves as the long-wheelbase, three-row variant of the company’s standard Model Y. This electric SUV offers a six-seat configuration, making it an ideal choice for customers requiring additional cabin space. The Tesla Model Y L is being manufactured at the company’s Gigafactory in Shanghai, China. The company claims that this electric crossover boasts a WLTP-certified range of approximately 681 kilometers. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately five seconds.
The Model Y L features a dual-motor setup. With the rear seats folded down, the vehicle offers a cargo capacity of 2,539 liters. Additionally, the company will offer its “Full Self-Driving” feature with this model; however, customers will be required to pay an additional ₹6 lakh to access this functionality. The Tesla Model Y L will be available in a choice of six exterior colors.
Tesla initially launched its business operations in India last year with the introduction of the Model Y. That model is currently available in two distinct variants: Rear-Wheel Drive and Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive. The starting price of the Model Y is ₹59.89 lakh. The price of its Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive variant is ₹67.89 lakh. Recently, the company offered a discount of ₹2 lakh on this electric SUV to reduce its inventory. The All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant of the company’s Model Y is also available in the international market.
