Plans Underway to Transform Mumbai’s SevenHills Hospital into a Modern Medical Hub; Nita Ambani Outlines the Vision
A major transformation is on the horizon for the medical landscape in Mumbai. The city is poised to become home to one of the country’s largest integrated healthcare hubs. As part of a major healthcare initiative by the Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani has unveiled her vision for the future of SevenHills Hospital. Speaking at the Reliance Industries Annual General Meeting (AGM), Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani discussed the creation of a comprehensive, integrated medical ecosystem in the city.
This system will integrate advanced treatment facilities, research capabilities, and patient care under one roof. She stated that the initiative aims to make world-class healthcare affordable and accessible to Indians from all economic and social backgrounds.
Visuals shown during the presentation outlined plans for a massive multi-specialty medical hub featuring high capacity, advanced clinical systems, and specialized treatment centers. Under the plan, SevenHills Hospital will be transformed into a facility with a capacity of approximately 1,500 beds. It will cater to a wide range of healthcare needs, including oncology, neurosciences, emergency and trauma care, and the treatment of neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. The proposed ecosystem also emphasizes research-driven care, digital health systems, and data-backed clinical practices.
The vision for this project extends beyond mere medical treatment. It seeks to integrate clinical care, medical research, technology, and training, thereby creating a healthcare model capable of meeting both current and future demands.
