MoU for Aluminum Park: Vedanta Aluminum Partners with Downstream Companies

Vedanta Aluminum, India’s largest aluminum producer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two major companies—Singhal Steel & Power Pvt. Ltd. and Scott-L Metcon Pvt. Ltd. (an associate company of Scottish Chemical Industries and UL Industries)—for the establishment of downstream aluminum manufacturing units within the proposed Vedanta Aluminum Park in Jharsuguda, Odisha.

₹500 Crore Investment Expected in Odisha

The MoU signing ceremony was held in Bhubaneswar and was attended by senior officials from the Government of Odisha, including Mr. Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, and Mr. Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department. The proposed Vedanta Aluminum Park in Jharsuguda is being developed as a world-class industrial hub for downstream aluminum industries. Its objective is to promote value addition, support the MSME sector, and consolidate Odisha’s position as a global aluminum hub. This initiative is expected to attract new investments exceeding ₹500 crore into the state and generate approximately 1,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Creation of Employment Opportunities

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, stated, “This initiative further strengthens Odisha’s standing as a premier industrial hub. The Vedanta Aluminum Park will boost investment, create large-scale employment opportunities, and reinforce the state’s manufacturing capabilities.”

Mr. Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department, remarked, “The Vedanta Aluminum Park represents a significant step towards strengthening Odisha’s industrial value chain. With superior infrastructure and policy support, we are providing industries with the opportunity to grow and thrive in a competitive environment.” C. The Vedanta Aluminium Park will not only strengthen downstream industries but also create sustainable employment opportunities, foster entrepreneurship, and contribute to the overall development of the region.”

The Vedanta Aluminium Park is being developed across an area of ​​approximately 56 acres. This park is being established as a premier downstream manufacturing hub, designed to assist industries in reducing logistics costs, energy consumption, and production lead times.
