GQG Partners Sells ₹5,750 Crore Stake in Adani Group Companies; Find Out Who Bought It
Foreign investor GQG Partners sold a stake worth approximately ₹5,750 crore in two Adani Group companies through block deals. SBI Mutual Fund made a significant investment by acquiring the entire stake offered in these deals. According to block deal data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE), GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund reduced its holdings in Adani Enterprises and Adani Energy Solutions.
Sale of 1.3% Stake in Adani Enterprises
Under the block deal, GQG Partners sold 1.64 crore shares of Adani Enterprises, representing about 1.3% of the company’s total equity. The deal was valued at approximately ₹4,760 crore.
SBI Mutual Fund purchased all these shares at an average price of ₹2,913.40 per share.
Stake Reduced in Adani Energy Solutions as Well
GQG Partners also sold a 0.5% stake in Adani Energy Solutions. The total value of this transaction was around ₹958 crore.
SBI Mutual Fund bought 63.66 lakh shares of the company, accounting for approximately 0.5% of the total equity. This purchase was made at an average price of ₹1,504.80 per share.
This marks the second consecutive instance of GQG Partners reducing its stake in Adani Group companies. Last month, the fund raised approximately ₹1,435 crore by selling a 0.5% stake in Adani Enterprises. At that time too, SBI Mutual Fund had purchased 58.92 lakh shares at an average price of ₹2,435.60 per share.
