7.8 million students and teachers to get free access to Adobe Express; initiative launched across 7 states

Adobe has launched a new initiative for government schools in India, providing free access to Adobe Express for Education. The company has signed agreements with seven state governments, enabling students and teachers in thousands of government schools to access resources related to digital creativity and AI. Through this initiative, approximately 7.8 million students and teachers across the country will be able to use Adobe Express.

The states participating in this Adobe initiative include Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Assam, and Goa. Thousands of government schools in these states will receive free access to Adobe Express for Education. This facility will also extend to school networks such as PM SHRI, CM SHRI, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV), and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). The company has stated that it plans to expand this initiative to other states and schools in the future.

This initiative goes beyond just providing free access to Adobe Express; students and teachers will also gain access to learning resources on digital creativity and AI through the Adobe Digital Academy. These resources will cover skills such as creative problem-solving, digital storytelling, and AI-assisted content creation.

With Adobe Express, students can create school projects, posters, videos, presentations, and other forms of digital content. The education version includes additional security and privacy features designed to ensure safe usage for students.

According to Adobe, teachers will also receive training on how to use digital creativity tools in the classroom. The objective is not merely to provide new software to students but to teach them the proper use of digital mediums and AI in their education.

The company has aligned this initiative with the emphasis placed on digital tools and AI-based education in the National Education Policy (NEP). Furthermore, this move supports the goal set in the Union Budget to create 2 million jobs in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sector by 2030.
