Advanced robots to feature at IMC-2026; focus on satellite internet, AI, and 6G

The 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) kicks off in Delhi today. This tech event will focus on advanced technologies in sectors such as 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), satellite communication, and cybersecurity.

Over 150,000 people from 100 countries are expected to attend Asia’s largest tech event, which runs until October 10 at Delhi’s Yashobhoomi Convention Center. More than 400 companies, alongside 500 startups, will showcase their innovations.

Theme: ‘Scale Without Boundaries’

The theme for IMC 2026 is ‘Scale Without Boundaries.’ The event will bring together global tech companies, internet operators, and emerging startups.

The government’s objective is to ensure that new technologies—such as 6G and AI—do not remain confined to laboratories and research but become accessible to the general public as soon as possible.

The event is divided into four segments; here is what makes each one special:

1. Srishti: Future Technology and Innovation

This segment focuses on digital technologies. It will showcase advanced technologies such as 6G, AI-driven telecom networks, quantum communication, semiconductors, AI chips, and cloud computing.

2. Samvardhan: Business Growth and Monetizing 5G

This section will discuss how to take new technologies beyond research labs and introduce them to the market. It covers new business models, such as monetizing 5G technology, delivering satellite internet directly to mobile phones, manufacturing telecom devices, robotics, and factory automation. 3. Empowered: Sustainability and Universal Access

This section focuses on creating an eco-friendly digital network. It emphasizes the use of green technology in telecommunications, proper e-waste disposal, cost reduction through green energy, and the expansion of digital services without harming the environment.

4. Security: Cybersecurity and Digital Trust

In this section, experts and the government will deliberate on critical issues such as protection against cyberattacks, safeguards against spam and online fraud, data privacy, AI regulations, and the security of undersea internet cables.
