5G technology will contribute Rs 35 lakh crore to India’s economy in next 15 years: Piyush Goyal

India is waving its wings in the digital sector. The Digital India Mission of the Government of India is forming the basis of a New India. Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles, Transport and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that the country has now transparently moved from 2G/3G to 4G and now 5G. Next generation mobile network i.e. 5G will contribute $450 billion (about Rs 35 lakh crore) to India’s economy in the next 15 years.

India’s first 5G testbed was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on World Telecommunication Day i.e. May 17. Piyush Goyal said that the 5G testbed prepared in India will prove to be a milestone for a self-reliant India in the telecom sector. This will digitize the economy, due to which the start-up ecosystem will be boosted. Also, Governance and Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business will also get a boost.

Said this on completion of 25 years of TRAI

The Union Minister has congratulated the regulator of the Indian telecom sector on the completion of 25 years of TRAI. He further informed that about 400 GIS based maps have been prepared under PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. Due to this digital push, there will be many investment opportunities in India.

Piyush Goyal said about the PM Gatishakti Initiative that it will make an important contribution to the development of the country’s infrastructure. Due to which there will be a safe, sustainable, scalable and collaborative approach in infrastructure planning in the country. Let us inform that PM Gatishakti Initiative is a National Master Plan, which will provide multi-modal connectivity in the Economic Zones of the country.

Piyush Goyal was talking about the development of the telecom sector in the last few years. He said that the government has taken several important steps, which include reforming the supply chain of agriculture, common laws for the rational tax system, strong financial system etc.
