Uttar Pradesh MSME Department and Ku App join hands, one district-one product will be promoted.
An MoU has been signed between the MSME Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the micro-blogging platform Ku App. This MoU will give a boost to the ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative of the state. On July 27, the Additional Chief Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Export Promotion of Uttar Pradesh Navneet Sehgal and Ku App co-founder Apmeya Radhakrishna have signed this MoU.
During the signing of the MoU, Chief Secretary, MSME Department, Navneet Sehgal said that this association with Ku App will help in taking our ODOP product to a larger audience and encourage ODOP interaction in many regional languages. Under the MoU, Ku App will use its platform in 10 languages to promote the ODOP product and its details. Apart from this, the app will also buy ODOP products for corporate gifting.
This MoU will also enhance the reach and communication of development programme, schemes of UP-ODOP. This app will also help non-English speaking people as well as local artisans to reach out to a larger segment of customers and grow their business across the country. The official handle of ODOP @UP_ODOP has also been created on Ku app.
Co-Founder of Ku App, Apramaya Radhakrishna said that today we are very happy to sign this MoU with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh emerges as a leader when it comes to promoting ODOP products globally through initiatives. It is indeed a pleasure for us to take the skills of local artisans across India and help promote it in different languages.
What is one district, one product?
One District, One Product (ODOP) scheme has been launched by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2018. In this scheme, skilled artisans are encouraged to improve the quality of their products and special indigenous projects and skills. The scheme also helps in marketing and branding of the product to increase the income of the artisans and generate more employment.
