Zypp Electric will give one lakh e-scooties to Zomato, entry was not received in the first season of Shark Tank India.

New Delhi: In the first season of the show Shark Tank India, the founder of Zypp Electric Vehicle was not selected for the final round. Now logistics delivery startup Zypp Electric has become the first company in India to use only electric vehicles in its direct-to-customer (D2C) delivery business. Zypp has tied up with food aggregator Zomato to provide one lakh electric scooties for food delivery by next year.


Zypp Electric is working towards the goal of 100% electrification in last mile logistics delivery. Zypp Electrical has said that it is going to deliver 1,00,000 scooters to food delivery platform Zomato by the year 2024. The company has said that Zomato is planning to shift completely to electric vehicles by the year 2030 and Zip has got an opportunity to become Zomato’s partner in this.


Mohit Sardana, COO of food delivery platform Zomato, said, “By tying up with Zypp, we are moving towards reducing carbon emissions and using green fuel in the last mile delivery option. We want to make the process of food delivery eco-friendly. That’s why we have tied up with Zip to deliver one lakh vehicles.”


Zypp provides delivery services to its customers from a wide range of companies including large e-commerce companies, e-kiranas, grocery stores and restaurants. The objective of this partnership of Zypp and Zomato is to reduce carbon emissions by more than 35 million kg and achieve the target of more than one crore deliveries by the year 2024 through its electric vehicles.


Zypp has said that the tie-up is part of its commitment to Zomato’s ‘Climate Group’s EV100’ initiative. By the year 2030, Zomato is running with a big plan to shift completely to the electric vehicle delivery model. With over 50 major customers across the industry, Zypp Electric is striving to change the delivery and ride-sharing industry.
