Layoffs: Again hit by retrenchment, for the third time in six months this company showed the way out to the employees

The news of layoffs is coming from another American company. Freshwork, a Nasdaq-listed SaaS unicorn company, has decided to lay off again, according to reports. In this retrenchment, members of different teams associated with the company have been affected. According to sources, the company cited performance reviews as the reason behind the layoffs, which mainly affected senior positions in the product, engineering and go-to-market (GTM) teams. The GTM team includes people from marketing, strategy and enablement departments.


In six months, the company had laid off people for the third time, in December and March also.


Employees found out about the layoffs through WhatsApp groups, as no formal announcement was made. The exact number of employees affected by the layoffs remains unknown. This is the third layoff in the company in the last six months. Earlier in December 2022 and March 2023 also the company had laid off the employees.


90 people were employed in December last year


In the retrenchment in December last year, the company fired 90 people, which was about two percent of the company’s total workforce. The number of employees laid off in March was not confirmed by the company. However, according to media reports, 114-125 employees were affected by the retrenchment during this period.


The company was established in 2010, more than 5000 people work


Freshworks was established in 2010. The company provides services such as software solutions for customer service, support, customer engagement and IT service management. According to the information given on LinkedIn, about 5,000 more people are working in the company.
