Indians will be able to go to Thailand without visa: Thai government’s decision to boost the economy, this will generate additional revenue of Rs 12 thousand crores.

To boost its economy, Thailand has announced visa free entry for citizens of India and Taiwan. Indians can visit Thailand without a visa from November 10, 2023 to May 10, 2024 and stay there for 30 days.

With this decision taken just before the tourism season, Thailand is expected to attract more tourists.

Thai government spokesman Chai Watcharonke said the scheme was expected to bring in an additional 1.4 million tourists. This will generate additional revenue of 1.5 billion dollars i.e. about Rs 12 thousand crores. Prime Minister Shretha Thavisin said, ‘We will give visa-free entry to citizens of India and Taiwan because many of their people like to travel to Thailand.’

Earlier there was visa on arrival facility for Indians.

Till now, Indian and Taiwanese tourists had to apply for a 15-day visa on arrival at the immigration checkpoint. Earlier in September, it had also announced visa free entry for Chinese citizens. In 2019, most people came from China to visit Thailand. Of Thailand’s record 39 million arrivals, 11 million were from China.
