Hero Moto Corp: Assets worth Rs 24.95 crore of Hero MotoCorp’s Pawan Kant Munjal seized, ED takes action

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 24.95 crore of Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Pawan Kant Munjal. The central agency said in a statement that three Delhi-based immovable properties of Munjal have been provisionally attached under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Munjal is the CMD and Chairman of Hero MotoCorp Limited and his assets are around Rs 24.95 crore. The ED had conducted the raids in August after taking cognizance of a chargesheet by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and registering a case under PMLA against Munjal and his companies. “The prosecution complaint alleges that foreign currency worth Rs 54 crore was illegally taken out of India,” the ED said.

Kunal Gupta’s property worth Rs 67.23 crore seized

ED has provisionally attached movable and immovable assets worth Rs 67.23 crore of Kunal Gupta, his family members, companies and his associates under the provisions of PMLA, 2002 in the fake call center fraud case by Mate Technologies and others. The seized assets are in the form of 35 bank accounts, 14 cars and 12 immovable properties (total value Rs 61.84 crore). According to the ED, the immovable assets include a resort in Goa, a villa in Goa, 10 commercial offices, flats, apartments and land in Kolkata and Bangalore.

Eight properties worth Rs 11.82 crore seized in land grabbing case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached eight immovable properties worth Rs 11.82 crore of Steven D’Souza, Moses Fernandes and Sameer Korgaonkar under the provisions of PMLA, 2002 in connection with the investigation into illegal land grab in Goa.
