The country’s largest airline company IndiGo will start direct flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam in July with leased Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The airline’s long-haul flights will also start with flight service to this British city. According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the airline, which is expanding its fleet as well as foreign connectivity, will start Mumbai-Manchester (UK) flight from July 1, 2025 and Mumbai-Amsterdam (Netherlands) flight from July 2. Flights will be operated thrice a week for both these cities.
IndiGo will be the first airline to directly connect India and North Britain
IndiGo said that it will be the only airline to provide direct connection between India and North Britain with the flight to Manchester. Airline CEO Peter Albers said that the long-haul flight is an important moment in IndiGo’s global expansion journey. He said, “We are very proud and excited to launch our first long-haul service connecting Mumbai to Manchester. This is a very special route in many ways.” Usually, the duration of a long-haul flight is at least 9 hours.
