US Tech Company with 2,700 Employees Makes Major Announcement: Bengaluru to House 15% of its Workforce
US-based classroom learning company Curriculum Associates has announced a significant expansion of its workforce at its Bengaluru office. Company CEO Kelly Sia stated that the Bengaluru office will account for approximately 15 percent of the company’s total workforce within the next 12 to 24 months. Curriculum Associates currently has over 2,700 employees worldwide, with around 240 based in Bengaluru. This number will be significantly increased under the new plan. The office will also be relocating to a larger 40,000 square-foot space in Prestige Tech Park, a substantial increase from its previous 17,000 square feet.
Expansion Strategy in India
Sia explained that the company is undergoing a major transformation in its service model. This model is a key strength for Curriculum Associates in the US, where it serves 14 million students, with a goal of reaching 25 million. She said the Bengaluru office is becoming a crucial part of the company’s global innovation strategy, particularly as it focuses on AI-enabled learning and assessment tools. Sia stated, “We want to use AI responsibly, ethically, and with privacy in mind. Our goal is to empower teachers and save them time.”
Development of AI-Enabled Learning Tools
The company recently launched an alpha version of a voice-enabled literacy task in the US, powered by SoapBox Labs’ speech engine. This engine automatically scores student reading and helps teachers focus on targeted instruction. The Bengaluru teams are working on the beta rollout of these tools. The Indian Global Capability Center (GCC) is also contributing to iReady Studio, an initiative to enhance educator support through tools and point-of-use resources and to develop new AI-powered teacher aids.
