Anthropic Dominates the AI Race; Even Elon Musk Acknowledges Its Prowess
The race for Artificial Intelligence (AI) supremacy among the world’s major tech companies is intensifying. Amidst this, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has heaped praise on his rival AI startup, Anthropic. Musk stated that Anthropic currently appears to be leading the AI sector. This statement is particularly significant because Anthropic is directly challenging his own company, xAI, as well as giants like OpenAI and Google.
“I Was Wrong”
Elon Musk praised Anthropic while responding to a discussion on social media platform X regarding the capabilities of AI models. He admitted that he was previously mistaken about Anthropic and that the company now appears to be an AI leader. Musk noted that no other company has yet introduced a model like “Mythos/Fable,” and suggested that Anthropic might soon launch “Mythos 2.” He also stated that, despite the competition, he would not take steps to harm a rival company.
Anthropic Makes Its Mark with Claude Models
Anthropic has carved out a strong position in the AI industry with its Claude AI models. Claude models have gained significant popularity among software developers due to their superior coding capabilities. The Claude Opus 4.5 model is considered a key contributor to this success, having received widespread acclaim for its performance in coding and complex technical tasks. Its adoption by numerous AI experts and developers has further solidified Anthropic’s standing.
Preparing for an IPO with a Multi-Billion Dollar Valuation
Anthropic has applied for an IPO in the United States. Prior to this, the company achieved a valuation of approximately $965 billion through a major funding round. This paves the way for it to become one of the largest AI-related market listings.
