Air India Launches New App: Details on Free Hotel and Cab Services Available on Home Screen During Flight Delays or Cancellations; Payments Made Easier

Air India has updated its mobile app with new features to make travel more convenient. Through this app, not only will ticket booking be faster than ever, but passengers will also avoid the hassle of dealing with airport issues during flight delays or cancellations.

In such situations, complete details regarding hotel accommodation and cab transfers will be available directly on the app’s home screen. Additionally, the app’s payment system has been upgraded, making the process of booking tickets and making payments significantly easier.

Faster Ticket Booking via In-House Engine

The airline has integrated its own in-house internet booking engine into the new update. This has made the app’s user interface faster and more responsive. Passengers will no longer face issues like app slowness or freezing while booking tickets, making the entire booking process seamless.

Payment System Tailored to Indian Needs

Satya Ramaswamy, Air India’s Chief Digital and Technology Officer, told PTI that the app’s new ‘payment orchestration system’ will enable the airline to implement various technical changes and innovations suited to the Indian market. This technology will facilitate the rapid rollout of new features. Furthermore, it will bring transparency to payment performance and make it easier to handle high volumes of traffic.

According to a release issued by Air India on Thursday, the company’s mobile app has been downloaded approximately 17 million times to date. Additionally, more than 100,000 passengers use the app daily for travel-related tasks. The company believes that this new upgrade will help in responding promptly to customer needs.
