Indian startup ARC set to transform the handheld gaming landscape! Partners with Qualcomm; X1 device coming soon.

Indian gaming hardware company ARC has announced a strategic partnership with Qualcomm Technologies. Under this collaboration, the two companies will develop new gaming devices for India and other emerging markets, including the ARC X1 handheld gaming console. According to the company, these devices will utilize Qualcomm’s technologies in computing, graphics, AI, and wireless connectivity. ARC is focusing on portable gaming hardware that strikes a balance between performance, battery life, and thermal management during gameplay.

ARC and Qualcomm will jointly develop a new lineup of gaming hardware. ARC notes that the gaming market in India is expanding rapidly, with users moving beyond smartphones toward high-fidelity, multi-platform games. In response to this trend, the company aims to create portable gaming devices tailored to the specific needs of markets like India.

The new device lineup will leverage Qualcomm’s mobile computing architecture. The company expects this to deliver the processing and graphics power required for advanced game engines and multi-platform titles. Additionally, the devices will be engineered for power efficiency to minimize overheating issues while ensuring minimal impact on battery life.

ARC also plans to prioritize low-latency connectivity in these devices, which will help maintain stable connections for cloud gaming and online multiplayer experiences. Furthermore, the company intends to create lightweight, ergonomically designed devices that are convenient to carry for daily use.

Jobin Joseph, Co-founder of ARC, stated that in markets like India, superior performance-per-watt is more critical than raw power alone. Meanwhile, Qualcomm’s Saurabh Arora remarked that gamers desire console-quality gaming experiences on portable devices. ARC has not yet disclosed details regarding the price, chipset, display, or launch date of the ARC X1. According to the company, technical specifications and launch-related details for the device will be revealed in the coming months.
