Trump’s Major Announcement: ‘Super Intelligence Force’ Created to Maintain AI Leadership
US President Donald Trump has taken a new step to strengthen the country’s position in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He has announced the creation of a ‘Super Intelligence Force,’ which will be led by senior officials.
President Trump has formed a new team—named the Super Intelligence Force (SIF)—to maintain America’s dominance in the AI sector. Its primary mandate will be to consolidate government efforts related to AI and work towards sustaining America’s lead in the development of this technology.
According to Trump, this decision follows an agreement reached with technology companies at the White House, wherein major tech firms acknowledged their responsibilities toward the American people. Trump believes that super intelligence could bring about a transformation even greater than the Industrial Revolution or the advent of the internet.
Who will lead the Super Intelligence Force?
According to Donald Trump, responsibility for this new team has been entrusted to four senior officials: Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton; Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson; Under Secretary for Research and Engineering and Pentagon Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael; and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor.
The team will report directly to President Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. This underscores that AI-related decisions are now being prioritized at the highest levels of the US government.
Engagement with the public and companies
The Super Intelligence Force will not be limited to government departments alone. According to Trump, the team will also engage with the general public, public interest organizations, religious institutions, essential service providers, and tech companies. Its objective is to understand the opportunities and challenges associated with AI development, enhance coordination among government departments, and safeguard U.S. interests. Through this initiative, the U.S. aims to strengthen its global position in new technology.
