What is Compressed Biogas (CBG) and How Does It Work?
Compressed Biogas (CBG) is a renewable fuel produced from organic waste and residues:
Raw Materials: Agricultural residues (stubble, etc.), cattle dung, food waste, and other biomass.
Processing: These organic residues are processed to produce methane gas, which serves as an alternative to conventional natural gas.
Usage: It can be used as fuel for vehicles (transport), in factories (industry), and for commercial purposes.
Benefits: It reduces the emission of toxic gases, decreases dependence on fossil fuel imports, creates new income avenues in rural areas, and yields residual matter that serves as high-quality organic manure for farms. ₹40,000 Crore Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub
